The Kent Center Substance Abuse Programs

A range of substance abuse treatment programs is available at The Kent Center through which clients receive clinically appropriate levels of services (based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine). All programs offer individual, family and group counseling; individualized treatment planning; drug screens; addiction awareness and relapse prevention education, among other services. Our treatment programs include:

Outpatient Counseling
Outpatient Counseling Services offer weekly individual or group counseling sessions to clients who are abusing drugs and alcohol. The length of time a client is in treatment is based on their individual needs. As in all programs, the Center’s commitment is long-term and clients may return for additional services when necessary. Weekday and evening appointments are available.

Intensive Outpatient Program
This program offers a structured daily treatment option for clients needing more intensive services than general outpatient services provide. The Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for individuals with significant substance abuse problems who are prone to relapse and have limited coping skills. Transportation within Kent County may be provided. Clients attend treatment 3 days per week, for 4 weeks to 3 months. Treatment hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Partial Hospital/Day Treatment Program
This program provides the highest level of substance abuse treatment available at The Kent Center. Individuals seeking treatment at this level are at high risk for relapse and need daily intervention to stay sober. Transportation within Kent County may be provided. Clients attend treatment 5 days per week, for 4 weeks to 3 months. Treatment hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Women’s Day Treatment Program
This program, similar to Day Treatment, is uniquely designed for women. Focus in treatment is on women’s issues in recovery; trauma issues that impact addiction, such as domestic violence; among other issues. Transportation within Kent County may be provided. Referrals for childcare are given as needed.
