Vacation time can be used after three months of employment. Accrued vacation is yours if you leave employment.
15 sick days per year: You can accumulate up to 36 days.

CAFETERIA (125) PLAN
The Center is pleased to offer the "Medical/Dental/AFLAC premium payment plan" for employees eligible
for benefits. This will enable you to pay for Medical/Dental/AFLAC premiums before Federal, State and Social Security taxes are withheld. As a result you will pay less tax and have more money available to you.
MEDICAL COVERAGE
Medical health care premiums have increased steadily each year. Each year our medical plan is evaluated to ensure that the medical coverage provide to you and your family is the best available for the premium
dollars we are paying. The cost of providing you and your family with a comprehensive medical plan is over $13,500 per year per employee. We offer you Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI.
Healthmate Coast to Coast:
This plan offers you access to any hospital, physician, or other services provided under the plan any where within the Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthmate Coast to Coast network
anywhere in the country. If you choose to be treated by a specialist in another state and that specialist participates in the Healthmate Coast to Coast you would pay the same office visit co-payment to that
specialist you would pay a specialist in Rhode Island. There is a $250.00 deductible on some services.
- Individual premium co-pay will be $36.50 per pay period.(deductible $250)
- Family premium co-pay will be $91 per pay period. (maximum deductible $500)
CASH OPTION
$600.00 cash option election is available to you if you are covered by another medical plan and choose not to enroll in the Center's medical insurance plan. The cash option is paid out throughout the plan
year. Each pay period you would receive ($23.08). The money received though this option is taxable. You will be required to show evidence of being covered under another medical plan.
DENTAL INSURANCE
Our dental benefits provide you with an annual maximum of $1500 per person, per calendar year. Some
of the benefits provided are: Preventive/Diagnostic/Minor Restorative paid at 100%; Major Restorative work paid at 80%; Periodontics work paid at 80%; Prosthodontics work is paid at 50%. Full-time
students are covered until they are 23 years of age.
- Individual employee coverage provided by the Center at no cost.
- Family coverage contribution is $20.18 per pay period.
MEDICAL AND DEPENDENT CARE FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS
These programs allow you to use pre-tax wages to pay for:
Medical or dental expenses that are not covered under those plans. Some examples are: doctor's office
visit co-payment, co-payment on some durable medical equipment, deductibles, prescription co-payments, eye glasses and braces for teeth. There are also non prescription over the counter
medicines and medical supplies that are covered under this program.
Dependent care reimbursement is for expenses that will allow you (and spouse, if married) to have or look for gainful employment.
LIFE INSURANCE

your annual salary rounded to the next thousand; maximum of $300,000 coverage. Paid by the Center.
LONG TERM DISABILITY
Long term disability insurance will provide you with income up to 60% of your salary should you become
disabled and not able to return to work due to an injury, accident or other medical reasons. There is a 180 day elimination period (6 mths) you must meet before you would be eligible to receive benefits. Long
term disability insurance is coordinated with other sources of income you may receive such as Worker's Compensation or Social Security disability insurance.
SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE BENEFITS
AFLAC's Supplemental benefits available to you. Cancer Protection, hospital intensive care, personal
short term disability, personal accident protection. These benefits can provide you with additional financial security and are designed to meet your needs. Most of the programs we offer provide a
wellness benefit which give you cash back each year. The premiums are paid through payroll reduction. These benefits are portable and the premiums will not change. A representative from AFLAC will discuss
rates with you for each benefit you select.
PENSION PLAN
The Center offers a 401(k) Safe Harbor and match contribution retirement plan. The Center will contribute 3% of your eligible salary annual to your retirement plan. You also have the opportunity to
contribute to your retirement plan. If you choose you can contribute from 1% to 100% of your non taxable money to the plan. The Safe Harbor contributions and your contributions will be 100% vested in the plan.
The Center will match your contribution dollar for dollar match for the first 1% of earning and $.50 (cents) for every dollar of you contribution for the next 6% of earnings. A 7% contribution from you can
yield the 3% safe harbor and an additional 4% from the Center totaling 7%. To receive the match contribution you would need to complete 800 hours within the plan year and be actively employed on the last day of the plan year.
Our retirement plan has a five year vesting schedule:
- 0% vesting up to one (1) year of employment; 25% vested after two (2) years of employment; 50% vested after three (3) years of employment; 75% vested after four (4) years of employment;
and 100% vested after five (5) years of employment.
- Loan provision available for vested employees up to 50% of their account balance, but never more than $3000. (You may have only one (1) outstanding loan at a time.)
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SERVICES
A confidential source of help for personal concerns.
Our Employee Assistance Program, a free service available as a benefit to all employees and their family
members, is a confidential, professional resource for persons needing information, or assessment and referral to counseling or other resources within their community. To ensure complete confidentiality, we
have contracted with Resource International Employee Assistance Services to provide management and profession staff services for our Employee Assistance Program.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
The Kent Center provides a Reimbursement program for employees who enroll in a higher education
degree program or who take courses to improve their skills and competence in their present jobs or for career advancement at the Center. The Center reimburses 75% of tuition up to $500.00 for graduate
level courses and $250.00 for undergraduate courses.
Eligibility: All Full time scheduled employees in good standing completing a minimum of one year of service prior to beginning of the course are eligible.
